Recommended Use of SlipperySally Slide Sheets in High Infection Risk Areas (theatre, intensive care units) and Disposal

If the SlipperySally slide sheet is not visibly contaminated and if it will continue to be required by a single patient during their admission then continue to use the SlipperySally during patient admission

The SlipperySally slide sheet should be discarded if:

  • It is accompanying the patient to another healthcare facility
  • The patient is colonized or infected with a pathogen which may not be able to be eliminated from the environment with pH neutral detergent and water

Following use, if the SlipperySally slide sheet is potentially colonized or infected with a pathogen which may not be eliminated with a pH neutral detergent and water it may be:

  • Disposed of in the Medical (Clinical) waste stream

SlipperySally Single Patient Use Slide Sheets should not be recycled if they are heavily soiled or used in a high infection risk area.

 
Recommended Disposal of SlipperySally slide sheets when used on one patient if unsoiled in general use

Disposal of the SlipperySally slide sheet should take place in line with your establishments or local waste management regulations / guidelines.

SlipperySally Single Patient Use slide sheets can be recycled if they are unsoiled. For more information please contact us regarding your recycling options or your nearest Amcor Recycling office on 1800 819 000.

Following use, if the SlipperySally slide sheet is unsoiled it may be:

  • Recycled where this service exists
  • Disposed of in the general waste stream

We recommend if used in high infection risk area to dispose of with medical waste. If soiled in general use or recycling is unavailable dispose of in general waste.

Disposal of the Slippery Sally should take place in line with your establishments or local waste management regulations / guidelines.

SlipperySally Single Patient Use slide sheets should not be recycled if they are heavily soiled or used in a high infection risk area.

It is recommended that the waste type classification after use be referred to local regulations / guidelines and that the item is disposed of in accordance with these local waste management guidelines.
